After 25+ years in Public Safety, Tracy has recently launched her own company/podcast, On Scene First, which focuses on educating public safety professionals on must-have technology tools, leadership skills, and mental health resources to “save lives on both sides of the call.”
She spent many years serving her community in rural Massachusetts, from the dispatcher to chief dispatcher. She still serves as an on-call firefighter/EMT on her local fire department. She is also one of the lead instructors for their Fire/EMS Explorer post.
On Scene First is a hub for public safety education, training, and support in the areas of technology, leadership, mental health, and tips and tricks. Here we will highlight the latest and greatest must-have technological tools, Leadership strategies, and mental health resources in the public safety space. In addition, we’ll feature entertaining, educational, and empowering interviews with public safety difference-makers, including 9-1-1 insiders and field responders, who are harnessing the power of new technology, out-of-the-box thinking, and mental health resources to equip first responders to save lives on both sides of the call.

Founder and President of Hidden Battles Foundation (est 2017), Retired Law Enforcement and Retired Army Veteran
Scott is a resilient individual with a rich background in both military and law enforcement. Having proudly served for a decade in the United States Army as a Combat Engineer, Scott achieved the rank of Sergeant before his honorable discharge in 2004. His military journey included deployments to Kosovo, Kenya, and Panama for critical peacekeeping missions. After transitioning to civilian life, Scott embraced a career in law enforcement, accumulating nearly two decades of experience. Today, he channels his passion towards advocating for the mental health of Veterans, Police Officers, and Fire Fighters. Scott's mission is driven by a personal commitment to improving the well-being of those who have dedicated their lives to serving and protecting our communities. Scott finds joy in spending quality time with his loving family—his wife Leslie, son Cregg, daughter Marissa, and loyal service dog Junie. During his off time, Scott indulges in comedy relief, appreciating the lighter side of life. Another favorite retreat for him is decompressing at the lake, where he can unwind and find moments of relaxation and connection with loved ones.

Chris has always been passionate about making a positive impact in his community, starting from his childhood. He used to volunteer alongside Scott Hyder, the Founding President of Hidden Battles, assisting with Health/Safety Fairs. Chris attended Salem State University, majoring in Criminal Justice Administration. Chris graduated from the Massachusetts Law Enforcement Training Alliance Reserve Police Academy in 2018 where he went on to work at a local agency. Currently, he is a dispatch supervisor for a large police agency.
Growing up in Westford, Massachusetts, Chris gained valuable experience through high school and college internships with various police departments. These experiences solidified his commitment to a career dedicated to serving his community. In his free time, Chris is an avid collector of public safety memorabilia, including shoulder patches and challenge coins. He’s also a passionate fan of Boston sports teams, enjoys traveling, visiting local breweries/food establishments, and cherishes spending time with close friends.

Michael Petterson

Ice Mike is a dedicated advocate and practitioner of mindfulness, whose mission is to share the transformative power of living in the present moment. As a seasoned Federal Law Enforcement Officer, Mike extends his expertise to first responders nationwide, conducting presentations that bring mindfulness to the forefront of their daily lives. Mike, who also served for 21 years with the Massachusetts Army National Guard as Military Police, completed three deployments, and retired as a Sergeant First Class, understands the demands of professions that require constant orientation to the present moment. He emphasizes the value of mindfulness as an effective tool for managing everyday stress, a practice he continues to integrate into both his professional and personal life. Mike is the founder of the Specialist Matthew Pollini Memorial Fund, established in honor of his fallen soldier, Matthew. This fund was created to assist heroes in need. Mike calls Westford home, where he resides with his wife Courtney, sons Nathan and Duke, and daughter Maya.

Julianne Griswold

Board of Advisors Hidden Battles Foundation, Intuitive Trauma Therapist Specializing in the Treatment of Military, First Responder and Relational Trauma
Juls is a licensed trauma therapist in private practice with over 10 years of experience working in the mental health field. Licensed in both MA and NH, Juls specializes in the treatment of military, first responder, and relational trauma.
As the wife of a combat veteran, Juls has endured the endless gaps in a broken system that our soldiers and first responders with PTSD face. Her family’s fight to overcome PTSD and their efforts to compensate for the gaps in a flawed system serve to light the path she follows in treating other veterans, first responders, and trauma survivors in her clinical practice. When she isn’t meeting with patients, you can find Juls developing products and fulfilling orders for her e-commerce business on Etsy, The Imaginative Healer, where she sells therapeutic tools for kids, adults, and counselors in clinical practice.
Juls resides in southern New Hampshire with her husband, their two kids, Liv and Will, and their three dogs, Porkchop, Wyatt, and Piglet.
